ABOUT THE GAN

Welcome! We're glad you're here!

At The Gan, all are equal, welcome, accepted, and encouraged. Our families represent the broadest range of backgrounds and affiliations within our Jewish community.

“Gan” is the Hebrew word for Garden. We view each child as a seed, so pure and impressionable, eager and ready to absorb the joys of life in a garden filled with exciting new experiences and the warmth of Judaism.

Our preschool is a stimulating and enriching educational environment where your child will develop intellectually, emotionally and physically. Children learn social skills, build their self- confidence and gain the preliminary skills to explore and experience the world independently from their parents.

The Gan is a play-based, Reggio inspired, home based preschool committed to the highest standards of early childhood education.

Children use three rooms of a beautiful sun-lit home plus a large outdoor space. In addition, children enjoy daily outdoor nature walks to the park or beach.

Our indoor and outdoor play area overlook the Alameda lagoon which creates an ongoing calm, soothing atmosphere for the children.

The staff at The Gan are, above all, concerned about your child and their development and will shower your child with love. Children receive individualized attention, according to their needs. Kosher, home cooked meals and snacks are provided.

Your child's safety is number one at The Gan. Licensed by the State of California as a Large Family Day Care Home, we meet all federal and state requirements for childcare, including staff CPR and first aid training, TB tests, background checks and fingerprints.

The Gan is accepting children who are 2-3 years of age for the 2022-2023 School Year for our Part Time program on Monday-Friday from 9:00-12:30pm
